At Deafblind Scotland we offer a variety of training programmes. We can tailor these to suit your needs and courses range from one a half hours to five hours. These can take place locally or within our own training suite. Our deafblind members deliver awareness training to schools, public services and private companies. Indeed, there are hundreds of deafblind people in Scotland, dozens of whom are keen to provide training which will ultimately benefit them.
First Scotrail is a good example of a company currently benefiting from this type of training. It uses Deafblind Scotland members regularly to train its employees. From platform staff to ticket collectors, all are given an understanding of the communication and mobility needs of deafblind people. As a result, dual sensory impaired people now receive a better quality of service.
